PROVO, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's contingent saw four singles entries survive the opening round Wednesday at the 2017 USTA/ITA Mountain Region Men's Tennis Championships being played at BYU's Outdoor Courts.

Ruben Alberts, Clayton Alenik, Richard Solberg and Eric Samuelsson all won in straight sets to open the event.

However, both of UNLV's doubles teams lost their first-round matches.

Members from 18 western teams are facing off as individuals through Saturday each day in both singles and doubles.
