The Rebels'll then hit the road for their first Mountain West-road games of the season, traveling to New Mexico for a three-game set against the Lobos. The two teams will play one game each day from Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10.

THIS SEASON: The program earned their first set of Mountain West weekly honors on Monday, Austin Kryszczuk picking up the league's Player of the Week award and Sam Simon being presented the Pitcher of the Week honor. The Rebels won all four games last week, including a win over Stanford, averaging 10.7 runs per game last week while only allowing three per contest.

Parker Schmidt has kicked off the 2024 season with a hot start, ranking eighth among NCAA DI programs in season batting average and seventh in one-base percentage (.682). The senior transfer's .588 season average stems from his time in left field and as one of the program's DH options. Schmidt also leads the program in stolen bases (4) and walks (5).

The Scarlet & Gray hold top ranks in several statistical categories among the Mountain West in the early season, sitting at the top spot of the league in scoring (7.9 runs / game), hits (87),  WHIP (1.06), on-base percentage (.431) and winning percentage (.875). The Rebels also cling to a second-place spot in batting average (.306), ERA (2.41), home runs per game (.88) and slugging percentage (.461)

UNLV's win against then-no. 23 ranked Stanford last week was a landmark win for the program, their first win against a ranked opponent since 2019. The Rebels' have produced double-digit runs three times in 2024, a feat they achieved 13 times last season.

The Scarlet & Gray's highest win streak last season was three matches in a row, a notch they hit three times over the course of last season. With the current win streak of seven games, the program's current streak is the longest since the 2021 season when UNLV reached eight. That span three seasons ago ran from Apr. 2 through May 1.

LAST YEAR: The Rebels had an overall record of 21-30 in the 2023 season, including a Mountain West record of 12-18. The program earned three Mountain West Player of the Week honors over the course of last season, including two Freshman of the Week mentions by then-freshman Reese Lueck and a Pitcher of the Week award for Noah Carabajal.
