EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - Junior Lorena Diaconescu finished 13th in the 200 freestyle at the 2001 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships held at the Nassau Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

Diaconescu turned in a time of 1:47.89 in the consolation finals. With the 13th place finish, Diaconescu repeats as an NCAA All-American in the 200 free. Diaconescu finished sixth in the 200 free at the 2000 Championships.

Sarah Tolar from the University of Arizona won the 200 free with a time of 1:45.21.

Diaconescu will compete Saturday in the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries.
