Hall of Fame

RALPH GARCIA (1967-70) UNLV's all-time strikeout king with 462 in 343.2 innings. He is one of only four pitchers in UNLV history to record 30 career victories. He was 30-22 with his best season of 10-5 in 1969. He established the single-season school record with 144 strikeouts in 1969. He later played with the San Diego Padres.

HERB PRYOR (1971-73, 1978) UNLV's all-time career leader in ERA (2.54), innings pitched (453), complete games (40) and is tied for victories (35) and shutouts (4). He is one of only four pitchers in UNLV history to record 30 career victories (35-21). He pitched the school's first no-hitter and perfect game on March 16, 1971 against Colorado. He was a member of UNLV's first playoff team in 1978 when the Rebels compiled a 44-20 record. He was 14-4 with a 2.42 ERA in 148.2 innings in '78.

1980 TEAM The team compiled a 53-13-1 record (.799) under coach Fred Dallimore. The team lost in the finals of the NCAA Midwest Regionals to California. The team set school records for most victories in a season, 20-game winning streak, most hits (738) and most total bases (1,191). They ranked second in school's history in batting average single-season (.326), most runs (538), most extra base hits (251), most triples (36),most stolen bases (124) and earned run average (3.35).

Matt Williams (1984-86) He is UNLV's all-time home run king with 58 and is perhaps the best player in UNLV baseball history. He became the first and only player in UNLV baseball history to have his jersey retired (#15) in 1990. He was a 1986 consensus first-team all-American by Baseball America, The Sporting News and Collegiate Baseball. He was a 1986 third overall pick by the San Francisco Giants, making him the highest drafted player in UNLV baseball history. He has enjoyed an oustanding major league career. He is a four-time Golden Glove Award winner and three-time all-star and was the 1994 major league home run king when he hit a career-high 43. He played the 1997 season with the Cleveland Indians. He is now a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
