New for 2018, we are proud to offer The FANtastic 20 - 20 new initiatives for Rebel fans that will be rolled out over the course of the football season.
In the fall of 2017, UNLV Athletics surveyed its fans and conducted a comprehensive listening tour asking constituent groups for their opinions and suggestions regarding the gameday experience at UNLV sporting events. The Athletics Department listened carefully and developed the FANtastic 7, seven initiatives to enhance the gameday experience, to create more fan engagement and to improve the overall atmosphere.
It has now expanded to The FANtastic 20:
1. Rebel Fan Council
- The Rebel Fan Council (RFC) will provide feedback and ideas directly from Rebel fans to UNLV Athletics with the goal of creating the best possible experience for UNLV fans. The RFC will be comprised of a diverse group of Rebel supporters and will meet quarterly to discuss potential improvements to the UNLV gameday experience.
2. Ticket sales fundraising opportunities for your school or organization
- UNLV fans now have the opportunity to raise money for schools, youth teams, and other organizations through a group sales fundraising program. Fundraising and fellowship--a Saturday well spent.
3. Mobile App Student Rewards Program
- The UNLV Student Rewards program will be a game-changer for the Rebel student experience. Students will have the opportunity to earn prizes and rewards through their attendance at UNLV athletic events.
4. A comprehensive student experience
- Exclusive giveaways, an enhanced Rebel Village tailgating experience, student rewards, and input in game day music are just a few initiatives students can expect to see this season that will make Sam Boyd Stadium the place to be on Saturdays.
5. "Eat All You Can" season, partial, and group ticket packages
- Our best ticket packages in the history of UNLV Football now include all-you-can-eat hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos and all the refreshing soda you can drink. Come hungry for college football and for your favorite gameday snacks.
6. Launch of new and improved UNLVRebels.com
- Rebel fans may have noticed a new look for UNLV's official athletics website: UNLVRebels.com. With an enhanced and simpler design, finding the information you want as a Rebel fan has never been easier.
7. "Better seats promise" for season and partial package purchasers
- Season ticket holders and the 3-game package purchasers will have better seat locations than single game buyers. The very best seat locations go to season ticket holders and we positioned our 3-game buyers right behind our 6-game season ticket holders. The earlier you buy, the better seats you can get.
8. New social media features including student-athlete account takeovers and #AskARebel (Q&As)
- UNLV Athletics is looking for new ways to engage with its fans on social media. Student-athlete account takeovers on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, along with question and answer opportunities with Rebels behind the scenes are two new initiatives with more to follow.
9. Ticket exchange feature for season and partial packages
- We understand that things pop up and fans may not be able to make it to every game. Now, UNLV fans don't have to worry about tickets going unused. If you can't make it to a game, trade in those tickets for another game and bring along some friends.
10. Branded student section
- Students help make game day special, and we want to return the favor. This year The Rebellion student section is official!
11. First-person stories from UNLV coaches and student-athletes on UNLVRebels.com
- Unique insight into the lives of the people at UNLV Athletics you want to know most about. Hear directly from those that compete as Rebels through written stories and video features.
12. "Exceed the Score" student-athlete feature series
- UNLV Athletics is introducing a new YouTube series to tell the student-athlete story. Fans will get an inside look at the people that wear the UNLV logo outside of the arenas of competition.
13. Fan forums with coaches and staff (1 before football season; 1 before basketball season; 1 during spring ball)
- UNLV fans will have the opportunity to learn from Rebel coaches at various points throughout the year during the Rebel Fan Forums. Each forum will feature a variety UNLV coaches, and fans in attendance will learn about Rebel programs.
14. Recognition of local community heroes at games throughout the season

15. Enhanced radio broadcasts with the addition of a sideline reporter
- New for the 2018 season, Rebel football will have a reporter on the sideline live during games both home and away to bring listeners even closer to the action.
16. Customer service training for gameday and full-time staff
- Las Vegas is known for world-class hospitality and our guests at Sam Boyd Stadium should feel no different than those vacationing on the strip. We are taking steps to enhance the customer service for fans on gameday at the stadium.
17. Creating a more engaging in-game atmosphere
- With a new marketing and promotions team in place, Rebel fans will enjoy an enhanced and more engaging experience during games. Be on the lookout for new videoboard features, music selections, and promotions during each contest.
18. New pre-game entertainment and activities
- Beginning with UNLV football, fans will be able to enjoy new and exciting entertainment options prior to games. Activities for all ages will be hosted in the Star Nursery Lot across the street from the Rebel Block Party. Entertainment will include games, inflatables, and more.
19. Optimizing video board to show more replays, introduce new video features and fan cams
- New video features and fan cams, more replays, and more frequent displays of Top 25 and Mountain West out-of-town scores are a few of the enhancements fans can expect to see in Sam Boyd Stadium this season.
20. New music from the band
- The UNLV Pep Band will offer a new selection of music in addition to the traditional favorites. New music will be incorporated throughout football season and continue across other UNLV sporting events.
