LAS VEGAS (AP) - Kaspars Kambala scored 23 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as UNLV defeated Austin Peay 87-66 in a nonconference game Wednesday night.

Mark Dickel added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Rebels (6-1) and Trevor Diggs and Sylvester Dotson each added 11 points.

Nick Stapleton led the Governors (3-3) with 18 points while Trenton Hassells added 17 and Theanthony Haymon added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Rebels led 44-25 at the half by finishing the half with a 16-2 run. Dotson scored all 11 of his points in the run, which spanned the last 4:40 before the break.

Midway through the second half, the Governors pulled back to within 53-43, but the Rebels then went on a 9-2 run to jump back up by 17 points.

Diggs, UNLV's leading scorer at 18.7 points per game, hit a 3-pointer and then converted an easy layup after he stole a pass in the run.

The Rebels shot 50 percent from the field for the game and out-rebounded the Governors 43-35.
