Andrew Livingston Finishes Fifth at NCAA Championships

Sophomore Andrew Livingston (Houston, Tex.) swam to a 5th place finish in at the NCAA Championship Saturday in Indianapolis, Ind., clocking a time of 1:45.00. Livingston qualified for the finals after swimming 145.13 in the morning prelims. The finish marks the best in the 200 butterfly since three-time All-American Bart Pippenger took second place in 1990 as a senior. Livingston was the first UNLV freshman to qualify for the NCAA's in the 200 fly last season and finished 12th in the event (146.12).

The fifth place finish gave Livingston 14 points and led UNLV to a 29th result in the meet. Livingston also participated in the 100 fly but failed to score as he finished 32nd with a time of 48.81.
