AUSTIN, Texas - The top-ranked UNLV men's golf team is in sixth place after shooting a 36-hole 15-over-par 591 at the Cleveland Golf/Morris Williams Intercollegiate being played at the The Hills Country Club at Lakeway (Par 72, 6,954 yards) Monday.
Houston (294-287-581, five-over par) leads the tournament after two rounds of play. Florida (295-290-585) is in second, WAC-member TCU (294-292-586) is in third, while Arizona (295-294-589) and Oklahoma State (294-295-589) are tied for fourth. UNLV (293-298-591) is ten shots off the lead in sixth.
Rory Sabbatini (72-69-141, three-under par) of Arizona leads the individuals and is followed in second by Brad Elder (72-70-142) of Texas and Bo Van Pelt (72-70-142) of Oklahoma State. Jeremy Anderson (70-75-145) leads the Rebels individually and is tied for ninth place.
Other Rebels competing were Scott Lander (71-77-148/tied for 17th), Charley Hoffman (74-77-151/tied for 26th), Bill Lunde (78-75-153/tied for 35th), Morten Vildhoj (78-75-153/tied for 35th) and Chris Berry (81-73-154/tied for 40th).
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
