Men's Tennis Storm Past New Mexico

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The 32nd-ranked UNLV men's tennis team won five out of six singles matches en route to a 5-2 victory over No. 54 New Mexico at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Sunday.

The Lobos opened the day by winning the doubles point after taking the two completed matches. UNM won the showdown at the top spot where 39th-ranked Pepe Caballero and Jeff Williams topped 38th-ranked Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin 8-4.

UNLV, which improved to 3-3 in the WAC and 9-7 overall, then rebounded to win five points all in straight sets.

At the top position, 40th-ranked Asaf Tishler cruised past 45th-ranked Williams 6-1, 6-0. Zivkovic, Skorin, Damu Bobb, and Brandon Fallon earned the remaining points.

The Rebels next host Central Florida on Wednesday beginning at 1:30 p.m.
