Rebels Compete at Wolf Pack Invitational

RENO, Nev. - The UNLV women's indoor track and field team competed in its third track meet of the season when it traveled to the University of Nevada, Reno for the Wolf Pack Invitational Saturday.

Leading the way for the Rebels was Alicia Tyson. Tyson had her best performance of the season, placing second in the 200-meter dash (24.18) and fifth in the 55-meter dash (6.99). Michele Davis also had a solid showing taking second in the 400-meter dash (56.82).

The Rebel's distance corps dominated the mile run, with five runners in the top ten. Angie Fortner took first with a time of 4:53.17. Teammate Sharlene Downing finished in second place with a mark of (5:05.41). Denise Danielson took fifth (5:12.44), Stephanie Davidson finished sixth (5:15.17) and Katie Barto finished in ninth with a time of 5:19.55.

Jessica Marable had another noteworthy finish. The sophomore shot putter took home first place with a throw of 49'07.75. Laren Parker had a good day finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 18'05.25 and seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 37'03.25.

The Rebels will be traveling to Indianapolis February 5-6 to compete in the Cannon IV Classic.
