LAS VEGAS - The Rebel swimming and diving team hosted a conference meet Saturday at Buchanan Natatorium and defeated WAC foe New Mexico 158-94 in women's action and 154-82 in men's action.
UNLV dominated the meet winning each of the 28 events. The Rebels started out placing first and second in both the men's and women's 400 medley relay events. They never looked back as sweeps in the 200 free and the men's 200 fly solidified the victory early. On the men's side, Scalise led the way with victories in the 200 back (1:52.62), and the 200 individual medley (1:53.00). Andrew Livingston captured the 100 butterfly (50.77) and finished second in the 200 (1:51.04) behind Jacint Simon, who just recently joined the team at the semester break. Simon's time of 1:49.52 was the best time by a Rebel this season. Simon also finished on top in the 100 free, clocking a season-best 46.20.
In women's action, the Rebels' Frei recorded three wins in the 200 back (2:07.93), the 1000 free (10:24.37) and the 200 fly (2:08.24). Victoria Naess also had a good day as she won the 100 free (53.03) and the 200 free (1:55.02).
