April 11, 1998CARY, N.C. - A late rally by the Wake Forest men's golf team fell justshort as the top-ranked Rebels' golf team took first in the BELLSOUTH YellowPages Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, held at the 6,829-yard, par-72course at MacGregor Downs Country Club.
UNLV, the nation's top-ranked team, shot 287-283-298=868 andbarely withstood a late surge by Wake Forest to earn the team title by one stroke.The Runnin' Rebels' Jeremy Anderson took individual medalist honorsin the tournament, finishing with a 54-hole total of 6-under 210. Wakesenior Todd Lynch (Winston-Salem, NC/North Forsyth) fired three straightsubpar rounds to finish in second place at 4-under par, firing 71-70-71.
