BRENTWOOD, Calif. - After pulling off one upset, UNLV junior Veronica Goude lost in the third round of the consolation draw of qualifying at the 1998 Riviera Women's Tennis All-American Tournament Wednesday.

Goude, ranked 100th, opened the day by defeating No. 67 Jessica Zaganczyk of North Carolina, 6-4, 7-6. Goude, who is 5-5 on the season, then fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, to Southern California's Kara Warkentein, who also had defeated her in the main draw of qualifying earlier in the week.

Next up for the Lady Rebels is individual competition at the ITA Regional Championships to be held on Nov. 19-22 in Irvine, Calif.
