LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior Asaf Tishler moved up 12 spots to a career-high No. 19 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings released Tuesday.
Tishler, a senior from Tel Aviv, Israel, whose career-high ranking of 27th came last fall, has won 27 of his last 29 matches in singles and doubles combined. His season record now stands at 19-6. Tishler is the highest-ranked Rebel since former NCAA singles and doubles champion Luke Smith was No. 18 in fall 1996.
In doubles play, Rebels Nenad Zivkovic and Gregor Skorin dropped three spots to No. 14 nationally.
As a team, the men used a four-match winning streak to improve 12 spots to No. 53.
The UNLV women's team emerged in the rankings after a month-long absence. The Lady Rebels, who have won three straight after a 13-match losing streak, earned the 75th and final spot.
