CHESTERTON, Ind. - Call it a double repeat.
In the Championship Division, Northern Amateur defending champion and UNLV senior-to-be Michael Kirk left the field behind grabbing a comfortable ten-stroke lead heading into Thursday's final round.
No one came close. Firing his fourth consecutive sub-par round, Kirk finished the tournament at 17 under. Since coming to San Creek, the Northern has generally been won with a score at or near par.
Kirk will be playing additional tournament this summer, including next week's Western Open, before heading back to UNLV for his senior year.
Senior Division defending champion Bob Hullender, a 62-year-old Texas, like Kirk, left little room for doubt as to the ownership of the Senior Northern crown. Hullender began the day six strokes ahead of the field and finished as the only senior player under par for the tournament.
