Swim Teams Compete In MWC Championships

Feb. 17, 2000

OKLAHOMA CITY - After day one of the MWC Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., the Rebels find themselves in perfect position to finish in a top spot. The BYU Cougars currently lead the championships after six events: the men's and women's 200 R-Free, 200 R-Medley, and the 1-meter dive.

UNLV displayed strong showings in the relay events, but are currently sitting in 5th (men) and 4th (women) in the standings due to not having a diver in competition. The women's relay teams finished 2nd in the 200 R-Free with a time of 1:34.89 and 3rd in the 200 R-Medley, posting a time of 1:44.42. The Rebel men are undefeated in the relay events. UNLV swam winning times of 1:20.97 in the 200 R-Free and 1:29.39 in the 200 R-Medley.

Competition will continue on Friday and conclude Saturday, February 19th.
