FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -
Storyline: UNLV seniors Ayanna Hutchinson and Jessica Marable will represent the Rebel track and field team at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend. Competition will be help on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Hutchinson will compete in the 60 meters after clocking a provisional qualifying time of 7.28 in the finals of the Mountain West Conference Championships. That time would rank her third among NCAA competitors this season, although altitude adjustments have knocked her down to 12th on the NCAA's season performances list. Marable ranks fourth in the country in the shot put after breaking her own school record with a winning throw of 54-4 at the conference championships. Marable finished eighth in the shot at last year's NCAA Championships, both indoor and outdoor.
Davis Snubbed: Left off the NCAA invitation list was UNLV sophomore sprinter Michele Davis. Davis clocked a provisional qualifying time of 54.26 in the 400 meters, but it wasn't enough to break into the nation's top 20.
