UNLV senior golfer Jeremy Anderson (Lake Mary, Fla.) has been selected to the 2000 GTE Academic All-America Men's Spring At-Large first team as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the organization announced Tuesday.
For Anderson, it is the third time in his career that he has been named Academic All-America, but the first time he has been chosen to the first team. The Mountain West Conference Golfer of the Year graduated from UNLV last month with a bachelor's degree in business management and a 3.56 GPA.
He became the second Rebel to earn first team Academic All-America accolades this season. Senior soccer player Ryan Bledsoe (Las Vegas, Nev.) was honored on the Fall At-Large team.
Anderson concluded his career as a Rebel with a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championships. He leaves UNLV with school records for season scoring average (70.85), career scoring average (72.01), low 18 holes (63) and low 54 holes (198).
