LAS VEGAS - UNLV placed both a men's and women's doubles team in the preseason WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings, which were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Tuesday.
The men's duo of Nenad Zivkovic and Leslie Eisinga earned a ranking of 27th. Zivkovic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, was ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation in doubles two years ago. Eisinga, a sophomore from Helleveetsluis, Netherlands, is a transfer from the University of Oregon, where he earned a spot in the NCAA doubles championship tournament last season.
The women's doubles team of Marianne Bakken and Agnieszka Abram was ranked 38th. Bakken, a junior from Rykkinn, Norway, last season teamed with former Lady Rebel star Katarina Malec in advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA tournament. Agnieszka is a highly touted freshman from Warsaw, Poland.
