LAS VEGAS (AP) - UNLV, led by Dalron Johnson's career-high 29 points, used a 25-0 run to easily defeat Nicholls State 97-54 Tuesday night.

Nicholls State was leading 6-2 when the Rebels (2-0) took control of the game with the 25-0 first-half run. The Colonels were never able to get closer than 14 points after that, cutting the lead to 30-16 at one point. UNLV led 48-26 at the half.

Johnson, who led all scorers, was 13 for 16 from the floor, including three three-pointers. Ernest Turner had 12 points and Marcus Banks had 11 and five assists as UNLV hit 60.3 percent of its field goals, including 47.6 percent from three-point range.

Ronnie Price and Dominique Geason each had 12 points for the Colonels.
