Runnin Rebels Fly Past Air Force, 86-78

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Kaspars Kambala had 24 points as the University of Nevada-Las Vegas beat Air Force 86-78 in the Mountain West Conference Saturday.

Trevor Diggs added 19 points and eight assists for UNLV (15-10, 6-4).

Tom Bellairs led Air Force (7-16, 2-7) with a career-high 20.

Air Force challenged UNLV on defense, trying to get the Rebels' into foul trouble. Kambala picked up his third foul with 14:33 left, but the Falcons got themselves in foul trouble as well. Air Force starters Jarvis Croff, Lamoni Yazzie and Joel Gerlach fouled out.

"I thought we did a good job of playing poised but still attacking," UNLV coach Max Good said.

Leading 70-66 with 3:59 left, the Rebels made 11 of 12 free throws to clinch the victory.

UNLV jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start.
