Three Rebels Named To 2001 MWC Baseball All-Tournament Team

SAN DIEGO - BYU may have won the tournament, but UNLV left a lasting impression on the All-Tournament Team voters. Three Rebels were honored with a spot on the eleven-man team.

Ryan Olson, who pitched the first shutout in Mountain West Conference tournament history, was one of four pitchers named to the team. Olson threw eight innings in a 1-0 victory over San Diego State on the first day of the tournament.

Brad Beasley joins Utah catcher Chris Shelton on the team, while Trent Kitsch joins the team as a designated hitter. Beasley finished the tournament 4-for-9 from the plate with six RBIs and two home runs. Kitsch went 4-for-11 with one RBI and three runs scored.
