Complete Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings
For the first time in its brief history, the UNLV women's golf team has been ranked.
The Rebels are rated No. 47 in Tuesday's edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index after playing in just one tournament this season. UNLV finished ninth among an impressive 19-field at the Dick McGuire Invitational last weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.
"That's a pretty good debut," UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. "I thought we could have done a little better last week (at the McGuire), but it was a tough tournament, so I'm sure we're getting some credit for that."
UNLV did not defeat any of the six top-25 teams at the McGuire, but did manage to beat all but one of the teams in its conference.
Individually, sophomore Hwanhee Lee ranked 129th and freshman Elena Kurokawa sat 149th.
The Rebels look to improve that ranking next week in Las Cruces, N.M., where they will play the Price's Give 'Em Five Invitational on Oct. 7-9.
