Rebel Trio Bows Out Of Men's Tennis Tourney - University of Nevada Las Vegas Athletics

LAS VEGAS - All three of UNLV's singles participants lost their first-round matches in the main draw of the 2002 Omni Hotels Mountain Region Men's Tennis Championships, which opened at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Wednesday.

Last year's Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year, 16th-seeded Rebel Aviram Salomon, was upset by Nick Coutts of Boise State in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

UNLV newcomers Milos Blagojevic lost to Beck Roghaer of Boise State, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 while Ryan Barber fell to Tyler McClung of Air Force, 6-2, 6-0. All three will head to the consolation bracket, which begins play Thursday.

More than 100 players from 17 western teams have gathered for the event, which runs through Sunday on campus.
