Women's Swimming Splits At Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. - The UNLV men's and women's swimming team's fell to Arizona State on Friday night at the Sun Devil Aquatics Facility. The men's team lost 216-82, while the women's team fell 189-108. The women's team was able to take a 181-117 victory over Northern Arizona in double-dual action.

Highlighting the evening, Rebel sophomore Raluca Udroiu won both the 100 (56.12) and 200 (2:02.38) backstroke events. She also took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.51.

UNLV won the 500 freestyle on both sides. Tamee Ebert won in 5:00.31 followed by Damien DeMenno's winning time of 4:41.37.

Julie Unrau won the 100 fly in 58.18, with Michael Day taking first on the men's side in 50.53. He won by 1/100th of a second over ASU's David Kolozar's time of 50.54.

The Rebel women swim at New Mexico on Saturday evening beginning at 1 p.m. The men and women travel to Irvine, Calif on Nov. 1 for the Big West Shootout.
