Swimming Picked To Finish Third By League's Coaches

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Brigham Young University is favored to win this year's Mountain West Conference titles in men's and women's swimming & diving in a vote by the league's coaches.

Three-time champion BYU won a close vote on the men's side, as only five points separated the top three spots. The Cougars notched 16 points to capture first place, while Air Force finished second with 12 points and UNLV claimed third place with 11 points.

BYU gathered a score of 47 points (six first place votes) as it was picked to win the women's championship for the fourth time in as many years. Colorado State received one first place vote as it totaled 40 points in claiming second place. UNLV (one first place vote) claimed the third spot with 39 points, followed by Utah (34 points) and New Mexico (19 points) in fourth and fifth place, respectively. San Diego State settled in at sixth place with 17 points, while Air Force (16 points) and Wyoming (12 points) rounded out the poll.
