LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams played host to BYU and Florida State on Friday night at the Buchanan Natatorium. The Rebel women defeated BYU 139-103, but fell to Florida State 156-86. The men's team lost to both BYU (145-90) and Florida State (152-90).
Highlighting the men's side, Michael Day and Brad Vanderkam went 1-2 in the 200 butterfly. Day won in 1:50.14, while Vanderkam finished in 1:53.60.
On the women's side, Raluca Udroiu continued her dominance in the backstroke events, winning the 200 back in 2:00.34. Alyson Noble won the 500 free in 5:00.26
Freshman Shayna Burns took second in the 200 breast (2:21.79). She was out-touched by FSU's Emma Dutton.
UNLV has two weeks to prepare for Utah, who they will host on Dec.7 at 2 p.m.
