LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's swimming and diving team took a 167-131 victory over Utah on Saturday afternoon at the Buchanan Natatorium. With the win, the women's team remains undefeated in conference with wins over San Diego State, New Mexico, Colorado State and BYU.

The men's team lost 180-114.

The Rebel women opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay. The team of Raluca Udroiu, Shayna Burns, Julie Unrau and Madalina Tin won in a time of 1:45.47.

UNLV went 1-2-3 in the 100 back. Raluca Udroiu finished first in 56.51, followed by Jessie Bradshaw (57.33) and Alison Zick (59.99). Bradshaw later beat Utah's Neringa Statkeviciute for the top spot in the 50 free with a time of 24.25.

Udroiu also won the 200 back in 2:01.17 and 200 IM in 2:07.00.

Julie Unrau won the 200 fly in 2:05.21, nearly five seconds faster than Utah's Meghan Demchuk second-place time of 2:10.00. Unrau also won the 100 fly in 57.24, followed by Jessie Bradshaw in 57.81.

The women's diving team went 1-2-3 in both the 1 and 3-meter events. Nichole McLean won the 1 and 3-meter with scores of 226.05 and 207.50 respectively. Jessica Field took second in each event, followed by Cheryl Runyan.

On the men's side, Tyler Wistisen won both the 1 and 3-meter diving events. He took the 1-meter in 236.05 and the 3-meter in 196.45. Josh Padilla, a recent addition to the Rebel squad took third in each event.

Utah's David Fleisch just out-touched UNLV's Jonathan Hugo in the 100 back. Fleisch won in a time of 50.70, while Hugo took second in 50.73.

Michael Day won both the 100 (49.89) and 200 (1:49.27) fly events.

Damien Demenno finished second in the 1000 free (9:44.02) while Patrick Adams took second in the 100 (57.33) and 200 breast (2:05.67).

The Rebels will train through the holiday break and return to action on Jan. 17 at Air Force.
