LARAMIE, Wyoming - The UNLV women's swimming team completed an undefeated conference dual meet season with a 133-107 win at Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. The Rebel men fell to the Cowboys 156-75.
The women opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay. The team of Raluca Udroiu, Shayna Burns, Julie Unrau and Madalina Tin won in a time of 1:47.97.
Alyson Noble won the 200 free (1:57.30) and 500 free (5:10.05).
Freshman diver Nichole McLean won the 1-meter (221.03) and 3-meter (236.48) events.
Julie Unrau won the 100 fly in 58.92. Shayna Burns finished second in 59.50. Burns also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.17.
Raluca Udroiu took first in the 100 back with a time of 57.34.
The women capped the meet with a victory in the 400 free relay. The team of Jessie Bradshaw, Alyson Noble, Alison Zick and Tamee Ebert combined for a time of 3:35.20. They out-touched Wyoming by 6/100th of a second for the win.
Jonathan Hugo highlighted the men's side with a victory in the 50 freestyle. He won in a time of 20.92.
Freshman diver Tyler Wistisen won the 1-meter (249.23) event and finished second in the 3-meter (237.45).
Michael Day just missed a win in the 100 fly. He was out-touched by Wyoming's Gene Birks who won in a time of 51.43. Day's time was 51.66.
UNLV has two more dates on the calendar before the Mountain West Conference Championships. The Rebels travel to Nevada, Reno on Jan. 25 and host UC Santa Barbara and Northern Arizona on Feb. 1.
