LAS VEGAS - UNLV men's basketball student-athletes Marcus Banks and Dalron Johnson have made the 2003 National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District Teams list, announced by the NABC Wednesday.
Banks, a 6-2 senior guard, who leads UNLV in scoring and is second in the Mountain West Coference at 19.7 ppg, was selected to the District 15 First Team along with Jason Gardner and Luke Walton of Arizona, Ike Diogu of Arizona State and Jason Keep of San Diego. Banks also leads the Runnin' Rebels and the MWC in assists with 5.52 per game and steals with 2.87 per game.
Johnson, a 6-10 senior forward, who is second on the team in scoring with 15.6 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 per game, was named to the second team along with Jason Kapono of UCLA, Errick Craven of USC, Mark Hull of UC Santa Barbara and James Moore of New Mexico State.
The NABC Division I All-District Teams recognize the country's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2002-03 NCAA men's basketball season.
