LAS VEGAS - Four UNLV athletic programs were recipients of UNLV Athletics' team academic awards for spring 2003 on Monday. The football, women's tennis and men's and women's swimming and diving programs were all honored at the UNLV Athletics Department Presidential Welcome Breakfast at the Thomas & Mack Center's Board Room.

The awards recognized the achievements of the teams with the highest grade point averages and most improved GPA's from the prior semester.

The football team was the most improved men's team as it bettered its overall team GPA to 2.56 for spring 2003. The women's swimming and diving team won the women's award, improving to 3.07 as a team.

The highest men's team GPA award went to men's swimming and diving with a spring 2003 GPA of 3.07, while the women's award went to tennis with a spring 2003 GPA of 3.32.
