ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Despite trimming a stroke off its second round score on Friday, the UNLV women's golf team tumbled from fourth place to ninth on the leaderboard at the Dick McGuire Invitational.

The Rebels, who were tied for fourth after an opening-round 307 on Thursday, shot 306 as a team. However, all but four schools in the 17-team field either matched or bettered UNLV's 14-over-par round at the par-73, 6,069-yard Championship Course..

New Mexico retained the team lead after shooting an impressive 11-under par 281. The Lobos' Kailin Downs shares the lead with Oklahoma State's Karin Sjodin at eight-under.

The Rebels' leader was Sunny Oh, who shot an even-par 73. Oh did not move much on the leaderboard, dropping one spot to a tie for fifth at one-under.

Hwanhee Lee bounced back from a rough opening round to card a three-over 76 and leap to 69th place. She is 15-over par.

Freshman Seema Sadekar, who began the day just one stroke out of the lead, slipped to 14th place after shooting 78.

Rounding out the Rebels' team total was Young Pak, who shot 79 and sits 69th at 15-over par.

Elena Kurokawa's 81 was discarded toward the team total, and Christine Hentzner shot 77 playing as an individual.

Saturday's final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. MDT.
