SANTA CLARA, Calif. - UNLV men's tennis senior stars Henner Nehles and Aviram Salomon teamed up to take the doubles championship with two victories at the Santa Clara Bronco Classic Sunday.
The Rebel duo won its semifinal match 8-2 over Anders Dalskov and Elad Stern of UC Santa Barbara and then won the title match 8-6 over Amar Sigurdsson and Vladamir Zdravkovic of Pacific later in the day.
Nehles, however, ran out of gas in the singles final to close the day. The top seed and 46th-ranked Rebel fell in three sets to third-seeded Sigurdsson, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Also, in consolation play, Romain Massaro lost to Mike Wojnarowicz of Loyola Marymount 6-3, 6-4.
