ANN ARBOR, Mich. - UNLV senior star Henner Nehles lost his first-round match Thursday at the National Indoor Intercollegiate Tennis Championships, which are being held at the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center.
Nehles, who is the first Rebel to ever compete in the elite event, was defeated 6-3, 6-1 by Jesse Witten of Kentucky, who is ranked third in the nation.
Nehles did not receive much of a break in his Consolation Bracket draw as well, as he will face Harvard's 24th-ranked Jonathan Chu on Friday.
