Cougars Crush Rebels

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV women's tennis team winning streak of seven games came to an end as the No.14 BYU Cougars shutout the Lady Rebels 7-0 on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The 51 nationally ranked Lady Rebels drop to 11-4, 1-1 MWC. Losing only for the second time and final match at home this season, while the Cougars improve to 16-4 overall and 3-0 in the MWC.

UNLV started the day by losing two of the three doubles matches failing to earn one team point.

Gyorgyi Zsiros playing on the No 1 court, Aga Abram playing at the No. 2 spot. Cindy Treber was at the No. 4 position and Mery Constanti was at No. 6 all of whom lost in straight sets. Both Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis playing at the No. 3 position and Clare Smith who played on court No. 5, won their first set but came up short in the final two. s

Up next, the Lady Rebels will look to regroup as they hit the road to face PAC 10 powerhouse UCLA March 31.
