Falcons Foiled In Finale

COLORADO SPRINGS - The 49th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team completed its regular-season schedule with a 5-2 victory over Air Force at the Academy Tennis Courts Saturday.

The Lady Rebels improved to 15-6 overall and 5-2 in the Mountain West Conference while the Falcons fell to 13-11 and 1-5.

UNLV began the morning by taking the bottom two doubles matches for one team point. In singles play, Air Force was victorious at the top two positions for its only scoring of the day.

Winning for UNLV -- all in straight sets -- were Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis at No. 3, Cindy

Treber at No. 4, Claire Smith at No. 5 and Mery Constanti on Court Six.

UNLV now awaits the MWC Championship tournament, which will be hosted by San Diego State on April 29-May 1.
