AUSTIN, Texas - UNLV's Halima Decree will have to wait one more day before beginning competition in the 2004 NCAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as severe thunderstorms and persistent rain wiped out almost all the first day events on Wednesday.
DeCree, scheduled to run the 100m dash on Wednesday, will now run both the 100m and 200m dashes on Thursday. The 100m will begin at 3:20 pm (PST), with the 200m beginning at 5:15 pm. Christine Spence, who was scheduled to run the 400m hurdles on Thursday, saw her event pushed back to Friday, with a 7:30 pm start.
The now three-day meet is being hosted by the University of Texas at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. Live results will be available on the web at http://www.texassports.com/results/ncaa2004/
