LARAMIE, Wyo. - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a Mountain West Conference dual meet at Wyoming on Saturday, as the women held off the Cowgirls 134-109, while the men were dropped 130-111.

The Rebel women won seven individual events and swept both relays to improve to 8-4, and finish their conference season with a 6-1 mark. Julie Babin and Kim Bonney both won two events on the day to lead UNLV. Babin began the day with a win in the 1000 free (10:18.10), and added a first place swim in the 500 free (5:17.49). Bonney meanwhile won the 200 IM in 2:12.46, and set a new Corbett Pool record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:23.87. Also winning events on the day was Katie Wronn in the 50 free (24.23), Marina Sandback in the 100 free (52.86), and Raluca Udroiu in the 200 back in a pool record time (2:05.94). UNLV also won both the 400 medley and 200 free relays.

The UNLV men (6-2, 2-2) swam a close meet with the Cowboys, but Wyoming won three of the last four individual events, and eight on the day to take the victory. Jonathan Hugo did set a pool record with his leadoff backstroke leg on the 400 medley relay (50.79), while winning events for UNLV was Brandon Nelms in the 50 free (20.76), Michael Day in the 200 IM (1:54.57), and Joe Bartoch in the 100 free (45.53).

UNLV will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 29, as the Rebels host UC Santa Barbara at 2 pm in Buchanan Natatorium.
