LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams combined to win 23 of 28 events to complete a sweep over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on the Rebels' Senior Day on Saturday afternoon from Buchanan Natatorium. The UNLV men won by a score of 147-110, while the Rebel women took a 148-113 victory.

The UNLV men, who finish the dual meet season with a 6-3 record, picked up wins in nine of the first 10 events for the day. Patrick Adams and Joe Bartoch each won two events for the Rebels. Adams took first in both the 100 breast (55.66) and the 200 breast (2:05.02), while Bartoch posted first place times of 45.64 in the 100 free and 49.35 in the 100 fly. Also winning events on the day for the men was Kyle Goodrich in the 1000 free (9:34.25), Jonathan Hugo in the 100 back (50.54), Michael Day in the 200 fly (1:49.56), Brandon Nelms in the 50 free (20.60), Kyle Tannehill in the 200 back (1:50.81), and Tamas Bosnyak in the 400 IM (3:59.66).

The Rebel women also started out fast, winning the first five events and eight of the first nine as they finish with a 9-4 record for the dual meet season. UNLV saw three swimmers each win two events on the women's side. Alison Zick won the 1000 free in 10:30.41, and followed with a 5:08.17 to win the 500 free. Raluca Udroiu won both the 100 back (56.85) and the 200 back (2:03.18), while Kim Bonney took the 100 breast in 1:06.31, and the 200 breast in 2:20.76. Other winners for the Rebels included Lauren Browning in the 200 free (1:56.76), Katie Wronn in the 50 free (24.48), and Marina Sandback in the 100 free (51.82). Both the UNLV men and women swept the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

The teams will now have a month off before returning to action at the 2005 Mountain West Championships, held in Oklahoma City Feb. 23-26.
