Runnin' Rebels Receive Commitment From Troy Cage

Nov. 14, 2005

LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's basketball program has received a signed national letter of intent from Troy Cage to enroll at UNLV and play basketball for the Runnin' Rebels starting with the 2006-07 season, head coach Lon Kruger announced Monday.

Cage, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound forward from Glen Oaks High School in Baton Rouge, La., averaged 14 points and eight rebounds last year in leading his high school to the Louisiana Class 4A championship.

"We are really excited about Troy's decision to join our program," Kruger said. "He will bring versatility and athleticism to our squad and he has a passion for making progress on both ends of the floor."

Cage joins Marcus Lawrence, a guard from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, in UNLV's recruiting class for the 2006-07 season.
