SEATTLE, Wash. - Halima Decree ran to two top-five finishes as the UNLV women's track team had four athletes place in the top 10 in events at the Husky Invite on Saturday afternoon in Seattle, Wash. Team scores were not kept at Saturday's meet.
DeCree finished third in the 60 meters with a time of 7.55 and had a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters, recording a time of 25.03. DeCree was joined by fellow senior Christine Spence as UNLV's only two athletes to finish in the top 10 in two events. Spence took third in the high jump, clearing 5-9.75. She also finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.77
Rebel teammate Miesha McClendon finished one spot ahead of Spence in the 60 meter hurdles, as McClendon earned sixth place with a time of 8.72. Deanna Appuglise also had a sixth-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 57.09. Rounding out UNLV's top-10 efforts was the 4x400 meter relay team, which took fifth with a time of 3:55.10. The Rebels' relay team consisted of DeCree, Appuglise, Spence and freshman Brittney Bullocks.
UNLV wraps up its indoor regular season at the NAU Invite on Feb. 19 in Flagstaff, Ariz., before the MWC Indoor Championships on March 11-12 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
