LAS VEGAS, Nev. - UNLV senior sprinter Halima Decree was named the Mountain West Conference Female Indoor Track and Field athlete of the week on Feb. 15 for her performance at the Husky Classic.
DeCree clocked personal-best times in the 60 and 200 meters this past weekend at the Husky Classic, finishing in the top five in both events. She took third in the 60 meters with a time of 7.55 and followed that with a time of 25.03 in the 200 meters to finish fifth.
This is the first weekly honor for a Rebel track athlete since Michele Davis earned the accolade on Jan. 22, 2002. DeCree is just the third UNLV athlete to earn the weekly honor since the league was formed in 1999.
Colorado State's Josh Glaab earned MWC men's honors after he set the Colorado State and MWC record in the 5,000 meters at the Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas. Glaab had a time of 14:02.59 to finish in sixth place.
