Feb. 18, 2005

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The UNLV women's track and field team concludes its indoor regular season at the NAU Invite on Saturday, Feb. 19, in Flagstaff, Ariz., as the Rebels will be attempting to break a school record for a third-consecutive meet.

Last weekend freshman thrower Monique Humphries broke the school record in the weight throw at the Husky Classic with a mark of 50'-2.00". The previous record was 47'-3.00" set in 2004 by Angela Turner. In the Rebels first indoor meet of the year at the New Balance Invite, senior Michele Suszek set the school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:18.57. Suszek then nearly broke that record last weekend at the Husky Classic.

The meet starts at 8:30 a.m. (PST) at the Walkup Dome and continues throughout the day, with the final event the women's 1600 meter relay. Other schools joining the Rebels and host-Northern Arizona in the field at the NAU Invite include New Mexico State, Loyola Marymount and Southern Utah.

UNLV concludes its indoor season at the Mountain West Conference Championships on March 11-12 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
