LAS VEGAS - UNLV men's basketball head coach Lon Kruger has personally purchased tickets for UNLV students to attend his team's first round National Invitation Tournament game this Thursday, March 17 at 9 p.m. against Arizona State for free, the athletics department announced Tuesday.
When Kruger was informed that UNLV's student government (CSUN) purchased 100 tickets to distribute to students for free, he decided to purchase 200 himself, which brings the total to 300.
"I just wanted to thank the students at UNLV for their continued support of our team throughout this season and encourage them to support us on Thursday," Kruger said.
The first 300 UNLV students with valid ID to the student box office at the Thomas & Mack Center will receive a free ticket. The student box office opens at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Free student tickets will not distributed prior to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
UNLV students who are not a part of the first 300 to receive free tickets may purchase a ticket to the game for just five dollars.
