Pilots Error

BOISE, Idaho - The 47th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team won the doubles point and split singles Sunday to down No. 75 Portland 4-3 in a neutral-site match played at the Appleton Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Rebels posted a 2-1 mark in their weekend Idaho swing while improving to 11-4 on the year. The Pilots, out of the West Coast Conference, fell to 11-3.

UNLV, which was once again playing without No. 2 player Aviram Salomon because of injury, got doubles victories from Henner Nehles and Sean Hubbard at the No. 2 spot and Martin Redelinghuys and Jonathan Hooper at No. 3 to take the lead.

Winning in singles were Nehles at the top spot, Hooper at No. 5 and Redelinghuys on court six to clinch the team victory.

Next up, UNLV will host for the final time this season as it welcomes Arkansas on Tuesday beginning at 1:30 p.m.

It will mark the final home match for seniors Nehles and Salomon.
