LAS VEGAS - Top-ranked Stanford rolled through No. 35 UNLV 6-1 in what was the Lady Rebels' final non-conference match of the season Wednesday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
UNLV fell to 7-5 overall while the unanimous No. 1 Cardinal, which boasts a ranked player at nearly every position, improved to 13-0.
Stanford began the day by sweeping three doubles matches for one team point. In singles play, the visitors only lost two sets as UNLV's Linda Tempelfelde downed Joanna Kao 7-6, 6-4 on court six for her team's only score.
Amber Liu, ranked 14th, won the battle at the top of the lineup as she swept No. 22 Elena Gantcheva 6-3, 6-2.
UNLV wrapped up its most challenging non-conference slate in history after having played six top-25 teams.
However, it now sets its sights on Mountain West Conference play as the Lady Rebels host three league opponents this weekend -- all beginning at 10 a.m. -- No. 33 San Diego State on Friday, unranked Air Force on Saturday and No. 48 New Mexico on Sunday.
