FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The 39th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team moved indoors in the blizzard-struck Front Range and then moved to 4-1 in Mountain West Conference play with a 4-0 victory over Wyoming at the Miramont Sport Center on Sunday.

The Lady Rebels, who are stuck in Colorado overnight because of the snowstorms, improved to 11-6 overall while the Cowgirls fell to 9-11/1-6.

UNLV began the morning by winning two of three doubles matches for one team point. Winning for the Lady Rebels were Elena Gantcheva and Sharon Marin at the top position and Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis and Linda Tempelfelde at No. 3.

Limited to four courts, UNLV quickly won three points in straight sets to clinch the match. With host Colorado State waiting to play San Diego State, the remaining matches were halted or canceled.

Zsiros, a senior, moved into a tie with Janelle Barr (1991-94) in fifth place on the career singles victories list with 76. The native of Budapest, Hungary, eased by Corina Lazar at the second position 6-2, 6-2. Ortiz-Luis downed Korolina Rowinski 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 and Marin swept Andrea House on court four 6-1, 6-1.

UNLV will close its regular season by traveling to Provo, Utah, to face Utah on Friday and then first-place BYU on Saturday. If the Lady Rebels win both, they will tie for their second-ever regular-season MWC title.

"It's nice to get this win and put ourselves back in position to play for the conference championship," UNLV head coach Kevin Cory said. "We have to quickly turn around and get ready to play Utah and then BYU at their place. It's a big challenge but one we are certainly looking forward to."
