LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's squad saw its top player roar up the rankings as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its polls on Tuesday.
Top Rebel singles player Henner Nehles returned to the rankings in a big way, moving all the way from unranked to No. 63 on the 125-man list. Nehles last appeared on February 21 at No. 95.
The native of Duisburg, Germany, has won six straight to improve to 24-8 overall and 15-5 in duals. Since the last rankings, he has upset then-No. 47 Benedikt Stronk of San Diego State and then-No. 57 Rohan Gajjar of Arkansas.
The Rebel squad fell 11 spots to No. 51 after losing at San Diego State last week. The Aztecs were unranked at the time of the match but are now 41st.
UNLV has the week off until closing its regular season with a trip to Colorado Springs, CO, on April 16-17 to take on Air Force and then New Mexico.
