AUSTIN, Texas - UNLV senior distance runner Michele Suszek finished fifth in the 10,000 meters Wednesday in the first day of competition at the 78th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Suszek crossed the finish line in a time of 38:01.04 and she was less than three minutes behind event-winner Liza Hunter-Galvan, who was running unattached. Suszek was the only Rebel running today, as the meet opened with five events along with the start of the men's decathlon and the women's pentathlon.

UNLV will have six total athletes competing at the relays as Christine Spence, Deanna Appuglise, Halima Decree, Brittney Bullocks and Miesha McClendon are set to run in the meet.

The relays are a four-day meet which end on Saturday.
