Rebels In Second After Preview's First Day

SUNRIVER, Ore. - The UNLV men's golf team shot an opening-round 2-over-par 290 on Monday at the PING/Golfweek Preview at Sunriver Resort's Crosswater Club (par 72, 7,671 yards) and is in second place, six shots back of leader Georgia.

UNLV freshman Seung-Su Han shot a 3-under 69 and is in a three-way tie for the tournament's individual lead. Teammate and fellow freshman Blake Trimble is tied for seventh after shooting 1-under 71.

Georgia is the tournament's only team under par at 4-under (284). UNLV follows, then Kentucky (291), Arizona State (292) and Georgia Tech (294) rounds out the top five.

Other Rebel scores: sophomore Jarred Texter (74, +2; T27th), sophomore C.J. Gatto (76, +4; T43rd) and senior Andres Gonzales (79, +7; T61st).

The tournament continues with 18 holes on Tuesday and concludes with 18 on Wednesday.
